MEET JENNIFER

Szimanski Family Photo_edited.jpg

Raised by a teacher and a state elected official, she is a public servant at heart. Her public service began after she graduated college and took a job with the Texas Office of the Attorney General.  She worked in the Criminal Investigations Division as a sworn investigator and continued her law enforcement career with the Austin Police Department a few years later. Jennifer spent 15 years in law enforcement and experienced a range of assignments including patrol, investigations, intelligence, and supervisor. Her time in the field was her greatest honor and she stands by the men and women in blue who protect us every day.

She served on the Austin Police Association PAC and since 2017, has been working at the Capitol advocating for the working rights and working conditions of law enforcement across the State of Texas.

She is currently employed by the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT), the largest statewide law enforcement association in Texas. She serves in Public Affairs as the spokesperson and legislative coordinator. She has volunteered with AISD as a mentor to children with a parent currently in prison and she is currently a member of the Human Trafficking Prevention Task Force. Her husband is a Captain with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office and has an outstanding 25-year career in law enforcement.

Jennifer and her husband moved to Lakeway from Central Austin in 2012.  They settled into a home in Old Lakeway and fell in love with the beauty Lakeway has to offer.  In 2014, they grew their family and are raising two children who attend LTISD schools. Recently, they moved into Rough Hollow and continue to enjoy the absolute picturesque community that it is.
